A daughter lost to sex trafficking
Sarah Collins's daughter, Kelsey Collins, has been missing for the past three years. Kelsey, who had been working as a prostitute, disappeared after testifying before a grand jury about her alleged former pimp. After her disappearance, the case never went to trial. Sarah is now working to raise awareness about local sex trafficking. The Herald's story on Sarah (read it here) coincidently was published the same day as an op-ed piece in the New York Times by Nicholas Kristof about sex trafficking in the States (read it here). We usually hear about sex trafficking abroad, but don't as often hear about it happening here. That should change.
