Hoping for a big break

Young hopefuls had the chance to perform a song in front of talent agents, managers, casting directors, and recording label representatives during the Vocal Sport III Competition at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

General Conference

The 183rd Annual General Conference for the LDS Church was last week. Really interesting to shoot. Thousands and thousands inside listening to the church leaders, and many outside listening through loudspeakers broadcasting the session throughout Temple Square.

American Fork Shooting

An investigator stands in the doorway, at top, of the house where Ryker Petersen, 5 months, was shot in the head and killed on Friday, April 5, 2013. His father, Joshua Petersen, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder.

Scout for Life

Bob Averett has been a scout for 70 years. That's commitment.

Festival of Colors

SO. MUCH. FUN.

Helping with the horses

Karen Blake, a veterinarian at Elite Veterinary Services in Park City, came down to Mapleton with a few volunteers to vaccinate and deworm Trudy Childs's horses. Childs has been accused of the mistreatment and malnourishment of over 100 horses, and volunteers from the community have come together to look after the horses.

Waiting in the wings

Showing thanks

John Covey, brother of the late Dr. Stephen R. Covey, bows his head in gratitude as the crowd applauds his speech about his brother at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo on Friday, March 29, 2013. Stephen Covey was recognized with the Pillar of the Valley Award, and John Covey accepted it in his brother's honor.
